CARDS ON THE TABLE

Your monthly pick-a-card reading.

Hello Gorgeous,

This Pick a Card reading was inspired by Mercury retrograde in Scorpio (and a few other transits) that are asking us to surrender to change and shedding. Scorpio takes the mask off, because there are times when we are our own worst enemy.

So take a breath, go with your gut, and pick the pile that calls to you. Then scroll down to your message.

Pile 1    ✸    Pile 2    ✸    Pile 3

Pile 1: The Hermit

You're being called inward, and it's not a punishment.

The Hermit wants solitude and honest self-reflection. It's ruled by Virgo, so it isn't just retreating. It wants to dissect. What makes you tick? What needs to shift in your daily routine? Where can you add a little magic to the mundane?

With Mercury retrograde in Scorpio, there's also a purge. Scorpio sheds skin, so let the heavy stuff out through writing, talking it through, or therapy. Big, small, or "ridiculous," it all counts.

Virgo is an earth sign, and earth thrives on consistency. But planning only goes so far. You can strategize forever, and without inspired action, it's just a nice idea. Trial and error gives you data that no plan will.

Try this:

  • Write out everything that's been bothering you, with no filter.

  • Pick one habit to adjust and track it. Funky stickers encouraged, because fun is what makes it stick.

  • Ask yourself: what's one practical decision I can make right now to get out of my own way?

Your message: When the new habit feels normal, that's how you know your brain has rewired.

Pile 2: Page of Pentacles

This retrograde is for planning, not launching.

If there's something you want to work on, explore, or invest in, Mercury retrograde in Scorpio is the time to plan for it. Scorpio rules other people's money, so look into grants, including small business grants. Got a great idea that needs its details fleshed out? Same energy. And if you can't stop thinking about it, that's very Scorpio-coded (very obsessive) and usually a sign it's worth your time.

Retrogrades can be annoying because they disrupt our routines, but that's the point. They slow us down so we can look at our limiting beliefs. Plenty of people have built something steady in hard economic times, including the 2008 crash and the pandemic. It doesn't have to be a billion-dollar company. It can be something that makes people's lives easier, and right now people could use more ease and softness.

Try this:

  • Brain-dump every idea, big or small, even the ridiculous ones.

  • Research funding, grants, or partnerships that fit your idea.

  • Decide how you'd execute it, then hold your launch until Mercury goes direct.

Your message: Plan now, move later.

Have an idea you're not sure about? Pull a card on it. Choose your delivery: Email, PDF, or Voice Recording. (Only 10 slots available)

Pile 3: Temperance

Regulate first, then expand.

At first glance, Temperance looks like someone mixing drinks. It's actually alchemy: turning nothing into something. The biggest message here is to stay grounded.

Your nervous system works like an antenna and can attract or repel just about anything. In survival mode, your brain puts on blinders, so you miss the options and opportunities that are right in front of you. When you're regulated, you see more paths. That looks like a promotion, a better job, a new client, or a grant. Scorpio rules other people's money, so there's a lot out there if finances are on your mind.

Temperance is ruled by Sagittarius, who learns through experience. So don't be afraid to make mistakes. Maybe something didn't work out, but you learned from it, and that helps you make better decisions next time.

Try this:

  • Do a somatic exercise or breathwork. Both are easy, and lifting weights is required.

  • Limit your time on social media, especially if you're trying to expand or take on more.

  • Treat a "failed" attempt as data, and write down what it taught you.

Your message: Ground yourself first, and the new path will show itself.

Curious what's next on your path? Choose your delivery: Email, PDF, or Voice Recording. (Only 10 slots available)

Before you go

Whichever pile you choose, the retrograde's message is the same: slow down, tell the truth, and let the mask drop.

Delivered by Email, PDF, or Voice Recording, whichever you prefer. (Only 10 slots available)

Until next time,

Ethereal Mutha
